Aging Urban Communities Receive Critical Infrastructure Renewal with Modern Stainless Steel Systems

Leshan, China – To ensure the continued safety and reliability of household gas supply, the Shizhong District Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau has initiated a significant urban renewal project: replacing end-of-life natural gas pipelines across central town. This large-scale initiative directly addresses the safety hazards posed by aging infrastructure, benefiting a vast number of residents in older residential communities.

On December 24th, at a project site on Zǐyún Hòujiē street, construction crews were observed carefully removing outdated external gas risers from residential buildings. In a coordinated process, new, corrosion-protected stainless steel pipes were being installed simultaneously. The district-wide project encompasses a staggering 1,216 residential complexes and over 113,200 households, requiring the replacement of approximately 1,371 kilometers of gas piping.

A key component ensuring the long-term integrity of this renewed network is the specification of stainless steel pipes and Orbital Press Fittings supplied by Sichuan Nonleak Stainless Steel Pipe Industrial Co., Ltd. This robust material and connection technology are chosen for their superior corrosion resistance, strength, and proven leak-proof performance, which are critical for safe gas distribution.

The project is currently in an intensive construction phase, with over 200 workers on site to accelerate progress. To date, upgrades have been completed for more than 6,000 households, representing about 60% of the overall project scope. The teams are working diligently with the goal of completing installations for an additional 9,000 households before the Lunar New Year, ensuring residents can enjoy the holiday with peace of mind regarding their gas safety.

This comprehensive upgrade not only eliminates potential safety risks associated with old pipelines but also tangibly improves the quality of life for residents. The project stands as a clear example of facilitating public convenience and benefiting the people through essential infrastructure investment.
