Orbital Press Fittings

The Ultimate in Joint Strength and Sealing Reliability for Critical Applications.

The Power of 360-Degree Compression

Orbital Press technology represents a pinnacle of mechanical joint integrity. Unlike other methods, it applies a uniform, concentric force around the entire circumference of the fitting, creating a deeply embedded, interlocking connection between the pipe and fitting. This method is the preferred choice for engineers and contractors working on gas distribution, industrial process lines, and any system where joint failure is not an option.

Engineered to Withstand the Test of Time and Pressure

Unmatched Mechanical Strength

The orbital press process transforms the circular cross-section into a deep, continuous groove, forcing the fitting to embed into the pipe wall. This creates a massive increase in compression and a connection that behaves like interlocked threads, resulting in dramatically higher pull-out and burst strength compared to standard methods.

Cross-section of an Orbital Press system after the pipe is fully inserted but before pressing. The pipe is seated at the bottom, and the sealing ring is perfectly positioned within the now-formed sealed cavity.

Ultra-Reliable "Area" Seal

A dedicated sealing chamber is compressed during installation. The rectangular-section O-ring is fully deformed to fill every micro-gap within this sealed cavity, creating a massive "area seal" rather than just a line contact. This dual sealing action (mechanical grip + material fill) ensures zero leakage, even under pressure fluctuations and vibration.

Final cross-section of a completed Orbital Press connection, showing the deep, uniform groove crimped into the pipe and fitting, and the deformed sealing ring completely filling the compressed cavity.

Fast & Foolproof Installation

The O-ring is placed on the pipe after cutting, eliminating pre-installation damage risk. The single, 360-degree press operation is quick and ensures a perfect joint every time. Features like rotation tolerance and the ability for multiple re-presses significantly reduce on-site waste and rework, boosting overall installation efficiency and quality.

Simple, Reliable Installation in Four Steps

Orbital Press Pipeline Connection – Installation Procedure

Diagram showing the four installation steps for orbital press connections: 1. Pipe cutting with a tube cutter, 2. Positioning the O-ring and inserting the pipe into the fitting, 3. Proper tool positioning and pressing operation, 4. Inspection criteria for a successful press.

Step 1: Measure and Cut the Pipe

  • Cut the pipe to required length using a tube cutter.

  • Ensure a clean, square cut.

Step 2: Position O-ring and Assemble

  • Slide the O-ring onto the pipe.

  • Insert the pipe fully into the fitting until it reaches the bottom.

  • Position the O-ring flush with the port of the fitting’s sealing section.

Step 3: Perform Orbital Press

  • A. Place the assembly in the tool jaws:

    • Pipe toward the colored baffle side of the die

    • Fitting toward the black face side of the die

    • Position the fitting port on the step of the die’s sealing section for proper alignment.

  • B. Close the tool jaws and ensure both cylindrical pins are fully engaged before applying pressure.

Step 4: Post-Press Inspection

  • A. The 360° press indentation should be uniform and continuous around the circumference.

  • B. There should be no gap between the fitting end face and the pipe.

  • C. Any residual sealing ring material protruding from the press joint should be easily removable. Check the contact surface between the die segments.
