A stainless steel press fit adapter connects a double-press stainless steel pipe system to a threaded valve, instrument, meter or equipment interface. It combines a press connection at one end with a male or female threaded connection at the other end.
Nonleak press-fit threaded adapters are part of the Double Press Fittings range. This integrated product page covers male, female, equal-size and reducing options for water supply, HVAC and industrial piping projects.
Press Fit Adapter for Threaded Connections
The press fit adapter is used where a stainless steel press-fit pipeline must transition to a threaded component. The press end connects to a matching stainless steel pipe, while the threaded end connects to valves, gauges, instruments, pumps or other equipment.
This design keeps the main pipeline within the double-press system while providing a practical threaded interface at the required connection point.
Male and Female Threaded Options
A female threaded adapter has an internal threaded end and is commonly used to receive a male-threaded valve, instrument or accessory. A male threaded adapter has an external threaded end and connects to a component with a female-threaded port.
The correct option should be selected according to the mating component, thread direction, thread standard and installation layout.
- Female Threaded Adapter: Press connection with an internal threaded outlet.
- Male Threaded Adapter: Press connection with an external threaded outlet.
- Female Reducing Adapter: Internal thread with a reduced connection size.
- Male Reducing Adapter: External thread with a reduced connection size.
Equal and Reducing Connection Types
Equal-size adapters are used when the press end and threaded connection correspond to the same nominal connection range. They provide a direct transition between a double-press pipe and a threaded component.
Reducing adapters are used when the press pipe size and threaded connection size are different. They help simplify pipe-to-equipment transitions without adding unnecessary extra reducers or threaded fittings.
How It Differs from a Press Fit Coupling
A standard press fit coupling connects two pipe sections using press connections at both ends. A threaded adapter is different because it has one press end and one male or female threaded end.
This product should therefore be used for press-to-thread transitions rather than ordinary pipe-to-pipe straight connections.
Double-Press and Threaded Connection Design
The press end is designed to work with compatible stainless steel pipes, sealing elements and installation tools. The threaded end provides the connection interface required by the valve, instrument or equipment.
- Double-Press End: Supports clean and efficient connection to the stainless steel pipe system.
- Male or Female Thread: Provides flexibility for different equipment connection requirements.
- Equal and Reducing Options: Supports both direct and size-transition connections.
- Compact One-Piece Design: Reduces the number of additional components needed at the transition point.
Materials, Thread Options and Quality Control
Nonleak stainless steel press fit adapters are available in material options such as 304 and 316L, depending on the project environment and corrosion-resistance requirements.
The thread size and thread standard must be confirmed before ordering. Do not select a product only by nominal pipe size, because the press end, threaded end and mating component must all be compatible.
For installation information and product reference materials, review Nonleak Technical Documentation. Manufacturing and inspection requirements can also be confirmed according to the project specification.
