A stainless steel press fit threaded elbow changes pipeline direction while connecting a double-press stainless steel pipe to a male or female threaded valve, instrument or equipment interface. It combines a press connection at one end with a threaded connection at the other end.
This product page covers female, male, equal and reducing threaded elbow options within the Nonleak Double Press Fittings range.
Press Fit Threaded Elbow for Direction Changes
The elbow-shaped body allows the pipeline to change direction at the same point where the press-fit system transitions to a threaded component. This can reduce the need to install a separate press elbow and threaded adapter.
The press end connects to a compatible stainless steel pipe, while the threaded end connects to valves, gauges, pumps, meters or other equipment ports.
Male and Female Threaded Options
A female threaded elbow has an internal threaded connection and is used with a compatible male-threaded component. A male threaded elbow has an external threaded connection for equipment or valves with a female-threaded port.
- Female Threaded Elbow: Double-press end with an internal threaded connection.
- Male Threaded Elbow: Double-press end with an external threaded connection.
- Female Reducing Elbow: Internal thread with a reduced connection size.
- Male Reducing Elbow: External thread with a reduced connection size.
The mating component, thread size and applicable thread standard must be confirmed before ordering.
Equal and Reducing Elbow Configurations
Equal-size threaded elbows are used when the press connection and threaded connection correspond to the same nominal size range. They provide a compact transition between the pipe system and the threaded component.
Reducing threaded elbows are used when the press-end size and threaded-end size are different. This allows the installer to change both pipeline direction and connection size with one fitting.
How It Differs from a Standard Press Fit Elbow
A standard press fit elbow has press connections at both ends and is designed for pipe-to-pipe direction changes.
The product on this page is different because it has one double-press end and one male or female threaded end. It is intended for pipe-to-thread transitions rather than ordinary press-to-press connections.
For a straight connection without a direction change, review the press fit threaded adapter range.
Double-Press Connection and Threaded Interface
The press end is designed for connection to compatible stainless steel pipes using the approved sealing element, press tool and installation procedure.
- Double-Press End: Provides an efficient connection to the stainless steel pipeline.
- Threaded End: Connects the pipe system to valves, equipment and instruments.
- Elbow Body: Changes the pipeline direction at the transition point.
- Equal and Reducing Options: Support different project layouts and size combinations.
- Compact Design: Can reduce the number of separate fittings required.
Materials, Thread Standards and Quality Control
Nonleak threaded elbows are available in stainless steel material options such as 304 and 316L, subject to the required corrosion resistance and project specification.
The material grade, thread type, thread standard, press-end size and threaded-end size should all be confirmed before production or ordering. A nominal size alone is not sufficient to identify the complete fitting specification.
Installation and product reference information is available through Nonleak Technical Documentation.
Press Fit Threaded Elbow Specification Table
The following table shows selected equal and reducing press fit threaded elbow specifications. Male and female threaded configurations are available according to the required pipe size, thread connection and project specification.
| Model | Nominal Diameter | Dimensions (mm) | NPS |
|---|---|---|---|
| SKJ15*15N/W | DN15 | 16 | 1/2″ |
| SKJ20*15N/W | DN20*15 | 20*16 | 3/4″*1/2″ |
| SKJ20*20N/W | DN20 | 20 | 3/4″ |
| SKJ25*20N/W | DN25*20 | 25.4*20 | 1″*3/4″ |
| SKJ25*25N/W | DN25 | 25.4 | 1″ |
| SKJ32*25N/W | DN32*25 | 32*25.4 | 1-1/4″*1″ |
| SKJ32*32N/W | DN32 | 32 | 1-1/4″ |
| SKJ40*32N/W | DN40*32 | 40*32 | 1-1/2″*1-1/4″ |
| SKJ40*40N/W | DN40 | 40 | 1-1/2″ |
| SKJ50*50N/W | DN50 | 50.8 | 2″ |
Model note: The N/W suffix should be confirmed according to the required male or female threaded version. Final thread type, thread standard and size combination must be specified before ordering.
Typical Applications
Stainless steel threaded elbows are commonly used at piping points that require both a direction change and a threaded equipment connection.
- Valve connections in building water systems
- Pressure gauge and instrument connections
- Pump inlet or outlet interfaces
- HVAC equipment connections
- Mechanical room piping layouts
- Industrial utility pipelines
- Pipe-to-thread reducing transitions
- Compact equipment connection points
