A stainless steel press fit threaded union connects a double-press stainless steel pipe system to a threaded interface while allowing the joint to be disassembled for maintenance, replacement or installation convenience. It combines a press connection at one end with a threaded connection at the other end and includes a union structure for easier assembly and service.
This product page covers female and male threaded union options within the Nonleak Double Press Fittings range.
Press Fit Threaded Union for Serviceable Connections
A threaded union is commonly used where a piping system must connect to a threaded valve, instrument or equipment interface, while also allowing the connection to be disconnected later without cutting the pipe.
This makes the product especially useful at maintenance points, equipment interfaces and service locations where disassembly may be required.
Female and Male Threaded Union Options
A female threaded union has an internal threaded connection and is used where the mating component has an external thread. A male threaded union has an external threaded connection and is used where the mating component has an internal threaded port.
- Female Threaded Union: Double-press end with an internal threaded connection.
- Male Threaded Union: Double-press end with an external threaded connection.
The required thread type, thread size and applicable thread standard should be confirmed before ordering.
How a Male Threaded Union Is Commonly Structured
In practical product construction, a male threaded union is commonly supplied as a union assembly that includes a union body and a male threaded connector. In other words, the male version is often achieved through the union structure used for the female version together with a double-male threaded connecting piece.
However, in product selection and purchasing, it is still normally treated as a complete male threaded union assembly rather than as two separate fittings.
How It Differs from a Press Fit Threaded Adapter
A press fit threaded adapter is typically a fixed transition fitting. A threaded union is different because it allows the connection to be separated and reassembled more easily during installation or maintenance.
This makes a threaded union a better choice where future service access, equipment removal or periodic maintenance is important.
Double-Press End and Union Connection Design
The press end is designed for connection to compatible stainless steel pipes using the approved sealing element and installation procedure. The threaded side provides the interface to valves, instruments, pumps or other threaded components, while the union body allows convenient disassembly.
- Double-Press End: Connects to the stainless steel pipeline system.
- Threaded End: Connects to valves, equipment and instruments.
- Union Structure: Allows easier disassembly and maintenance.
- Compact Assembly: Reduces the need for multiple separate transition fittings.
Materials, Thread Options and Quality Control
Nonleak threaded unions are available in stainless steel material options such as 304 and 316L according to the corrosion resistance and service conditions required by the project.
The material grade, thread type, thread standard, press-end size and threaded-end size should all be confirmed before ordering. Installation and product reference information can be checked in Nonleak Technical Documentation.
Press Fit Threaded Union Specification Table
The following table shows selected equal-size press fit threaded union specifications from DN15 to DN50.
| Model | Nominal Diameter | Dimensions (mm) | NPS |
|---|---|---|---|
| SKH15*15N/W | DN15 | 16 | 1/2″ |
| SKH20*20N/W | DN20 | 20 | 3/4″ |
| SKH25*25N/W | DN25 | 25.4 | 1″ |
| SKH32*32N/W | DN32 | 32 | 1-1/4″ |
| SKH40*40N/W | DN40 | 40 | 1-1/2″ |
