A stainless steel pipe crossover fitting creates a controlled offset in a press-fit pipeline, allowing one pipe to pass over or around another pipe where installation space is limited.
The fitting can be used in compatible Nonleak threaded press-fit, double-press and orbital press piping systems. Although the crossover body and nominal pipe size may be shared across the three systems, the sealing element, pressing profile, installation tool and acceptance requirements must match the selected connection system.
This product is part of the Nonleak stainless steel pipe fittings range.
Pipe Crossover Fitting for Compact Pipeline Layouts
Pipe crossings are common in mechanical rooms, service shafts, ceiling installations and other areas where several pipelines must share limited space. A crossover fitting provides a prefabricated offset so one pipeline can pass over another pipe or building service.
Compared with assembling several elbows and short pipe sections, a one-piece crossover configuration can simplify the layout and reduce the number of separate connections at the crossing point.
How the Crossover Shape Works
The fitting body forms a raised or offset section between two aligned connection ends. The offset creates clearance for another pipe, cable tray or building service while allowing the pipeline to continue in its original direction.
- Offset Section: Creates clearance at the pipeline crossing point.
- Aligned Connection Ends: Allows the pipe route to continue after the crossover.
- One-Piece Configuration: Reduces the need for several separate elbows and short pipe sections.
- Compact Routing: Helps organize closely spaced pipelines in restricted installation areas.
Compatibility with Different Press-Fit Systems
The crossover fitting is designed for use with compatible stainless steel press-fit pipe systems. Depending on the project, it may be installed within threaded press-fit, double-press or orbital press piping layouts.
The fitting body may be common across these systems, but the installer must still confirm the corresponding pipe, sealing element, press tool, jaw or pressing profile and installation procedure.
- Threaded Press-Fit System: Follow the sealing and connection requirements specified for that system.
- Double-Press System: Use the approved pipe, sealing element and double-press installation tool.
- Orbital Press System: Follow the orbital pressing procedure and related tool requirements.
How It Differs from a Standard Press Fit Elbow
A standard press fit elbow changes the direction of a pipeline at a single bend. A crossover fitting creates a multi-bend offset that allows one pipe to pass over another service and then return to the intended route.
The crossover product should therefore be selected for pipeline clearance and crossing requirements rather than for a normal 45-degree or 90-degree direction change.
Pipe and Installation Requirements
Both connection ends must match the corresponding stainless steel pipes and press-fit system used in the project.
Before installation, confirm the pipe outside diameter, insertion depth, sealing element, pressing tool and applicable installation instructions. The pipe ends should be cut correctly, deburred, cleaned and fully inserted before pressing.
Because the fitting may be shared across different press-fit systems, the product name alone should not be used to select the installation tool or sealing component.
Materials and Quality Control
The stainless steel grade should be selected according to the conveyed medium, corrosion environment and project specification. Available materials must be confirmed according to the actual product configuration.
Important inspection points include fitting dimensions, connection-end geometry, surface condition, crossover height, sealing components and compatibility with the specified press-fit system.
